To commemorate this year’s Democracy Day presidential candidates of APC and PDP have been reflecting on the occasion. On his part the APC Presidential candidate Asiwaju Bola Tinubu asked Nigerians not to loss faith in the nation as it would surely overcome its challenges. In a statement he says just like Democracy finally won against dictatorship, he said prosperity shall overcome poverty, while peace shall out pass violence and compassion will conquer hatred with good defeating evil. His counterpart from the PDP, Alhaji Atiku Abubakar is challenging Nigerians to stay committed to the sacrifice of the heroes of democracy by ensuring good governance prevail while he takes a Swipe on the APC. Alhaji Atiku Abubakar emphasized the need for Nigerians to work together to fix the country and return it to the booming days of yore urging concerted effort to kick out the APC noting that the stands with Nigerians on the drive to reposition the country to greatness. From 2018 till date Democracy Day has been celebrated on June 12 as against May 29th as it was from 1999.
